Twisted Cat Ranch 2-Day Goat Tying Clinic
Take your goat tying to the next level with two days of hands-on instruction designed for junior high, high school, and rodeo athletes who want to build speed, confidence, and consistency.
Our clinic focuses on developing the complete competitor—from the fundamentals to competition-ready runs. Athletes will receive step-by-step instruction and plenty of repetition through drills, skill stations, dummy work, and live goat practice.
Clinic Topics Include:
- Proper goat tying fundamentals
- Body positioning and efficient tying techniques
- Speed-building drills
- Groundwork and footwork
- Dummy drills to build muscle memory
- Live goat practice
- Proper horse approach and positioning
- Safe, efficient dismount techniques
- Transition from horse to goat
- Competition strategy and time-saving tips
To help beat the Texas heat, portions of the clinic—including groundwork, drills, and technique sessions—will be conducted inside Twisted Cat Ranch's 80' × 60' air-conditioned indoor turf training room before transitioning to live practice in the arena.
No horse is required to participate in the ground instruction portion of the clinic.
